Please note: The Judging Standards for each learning area were developed to support the implementation of the inaugural Australian Curriculum for the Western Australian context between 2014 to 2025.

The Authority is currently adopting and adapting the Australian Curriculum version 9, in a phased approach, for the Western Australian Curriculum and Assessment Outline.

For English and Health and Physical Education, the Judging Standards Materials (Achievement Standard, Assessment Pointers and Annotated Work Samples) reflect the previous iteration of the curriculum. While the Pre-primary to Year 10 Achievement Standards have been revised in the syllabuses, the revisions to the Assessment Pointers and Annotated Work Samples will occur in the second and third year of implementation when teachers have had the opportunity to become familiar with the revised curriculum in the learning areas.

In the interim, teachers are advised to continue to use the published Assessment Pointers and Annotated Work Samples, which illustrate the observable qualities associated with a grade, to support judgements in relation to student achievement.
