The curriculum focuses on developing increasingly sophisticated and refined mathematical understanding, fluency, problem-solving, and reasoning skills and provides the fundamentals on which mathematical specialities and professional applications of mathematics are built.

Studying mathematics helps students think critically, logically and creatively to make sense of the world. It underpins advancements in science, technology and many other fields. The use of mathematics provides a powerful and precise language for communication and problem-solving.
